The Best is Yet To Come…

Freaking Friday baby!

And once again, Reno is in the news for another raging fire that is scorching through the area. Never a dull moment around here.

Today will be short and sweet. School is about to start up, and the on-campus world is very chaotic. Here’s a few things to ease the burden a bit.

  1. Live for the present – I’m definitely not good at this, but the present is the only thing we have control over (action and emotion wise). It’s always nice to plan and anticipate and hope, but we can’t control the “what ifs” and the “maybes”
  2. Acknowledge when you’ve bitten off more than you can chew – There’s nothing wrong in admitting that you committed to too much. Just make sure that you discover that before it’s too late! Also, make sure that your commitments are being made for the right reasons. You shouldn’t make a decision because someone else thinks you should. You need to be able to identify with why you made that choice, and understand that many decisions can be reversed!
  3. Enjoy the here and the now – There definitely is no time like the present, and we need to enjoy each and every moment. We won’t have those moments again, and failing to make the best of things will get us nowhere.
  4. Take time to enjoy the little things – While we’re on a kick about enjoyment, make sure that the little things in life are actually given credit where credit is due. Fajitas, ice skating, and walks in the park may not seem like epic occurrences, but really, they are what matters in life. Enjoy them!

What areas are you working on enjoying in your life?
