Self-Assurance and the Victor

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

What a wonderful weekend with that 80 degree weather! YES! Today is short and sweet… a simple reblogging of a posting from 3ENDURANCE.com

This poem below is great motivation for the internal competition going on in your head. Will you or won’t you? Can you find it in you to succeed or will you fail?

Looking back on my many years of racing and my undergrad and graduate work, what did I really count as success? Self-assurance and confidence are probably the most valuable thing I’ve picked up in all of those experiences… and I can definitely see the value of them. It’s not always about winning but it is about self-discovery and motivation.

The Victor by C. W. Longenecker

If you think you are beaten, you are.

If you think you dare not, you don’t.

If you like to win but think you can’t,

It’s almost a cinch you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.

For out in the world we find

Success begins with a fellow’s will.

It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are out classed, you are.

You’ve got to think high to rise.

You’ve got to be sure of your-self before

You can ever win the prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger or faster man.

But sooner or later, the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can.

There’s your boost for a great Monday! Hope it’s wonderful and productive. We shall see what the day brings 8-)

Do or do not… there is no try.
